9 killed, over 40 injured as buses collide near Aligarh
Nearly four dozen people were injured in the accident and were admitted to different hospitals of the district.
Nine people, including some teachers returning home from school, were killed in a collision between a private bus and a mini-bus near a toll plaza on Agra road near Madrak town of Aligarh on Tuesday.

Those killed included Kamini Upadhyay from Sasni town in Aligarh district, Geeta from Dhanipur, Anjali from Nagla Bhoori, Monika, Sadhna, Malkhan Singh besides the driver of the mini bus, Pawan. Two others, a man and a woman, are yet to be identified. The driver of private bus is injured and also yet to be identified.
The private bus was having members of a Muslim marriage group and was headed to Firozabad from Aligarh. The mini bus was over-crowded with passengers from Sasni to Aligarh.
Sources said that the mini-bus overtook a vehicle and lost control before colliding with the private bus coming from the opposite direction.
Both the vehicles were completely damaged because of the impact of the collision that left five dead on the spot, police said.
