The BJP has dubbed BSP's 'Operation Clean' as a sham and released a list of criminal cases in which BSP legislators were allegedly involved.
State BJP president Surya Pratap Shahi, (58), before leaving for Agra on Tuesday night, said, "Engineer Manoj Gupta murder case, Shashi case in Faizabad, Krishnanand Rai murder case in Maharajganj are still fresh in people's memory. In this backdrop, Chief Minister Mayawati's decision to give tickets to all sitting BSP MLAs, proves that operation clean up is a mere eye wash."
Shahi claimed that the BSP government had withdrawn criminal cases against its MLAs, MPs and party leaders.
Shahi also criticized the police for brutally attacking a party worker, Chote Lal Tiwari in Agra leading to his death. "This is yet another example of how barbaric the police have become under this present regime," he said.
Meanwhile the BJP leaders claimed that despite scorching heat, Shahi's road show, which after a brief break, would resume from Agra on Wednesday, were attracting good crowd.
