‘Country’s first three semesters system at IIIT-A by 2020’

A new vision plan is being drafted for Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A) to scale new heights in academic and research fields. Sharing his views about it, newly appointed director of the institute P Nagabhushan said a three-semester a year system will be implemented at the institute in 2020. It will be first-of-its-kind in the country, he added.
He was talking to talking to reporters on the institute’s Jhalwa campus on Monday. Nagabhushan, who took charge on May 19, also briefed the media about the vision prepared for IIIT-A to mark 20th year of its foundation in 2019.
He said yearlong celebrations will commence from August 2019 at the institute. He spoke about restructuring academic departments as schools of learning containing many centres/departments having their own specialisation themes.
