As many as 10,000 candidates — 884 of them from Lucknow — will receive cheques on the Colvin Taluqdar College campus in the presence of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav that day. An amount of Rs. 10 lakh has already been sanctioned to the treasury of the employment office where the cheques are also being readied. “The account numbers of the candidates have also been mentioned on the cheques. This would help in cases where two or more candidates have the same name,” said Akhilesh Yadav the chief treasury officer. Out of the 884 Lucknow applicants, 180 will be given two months' allowance. The remaining will receive payments for one month. The chief minister would do a symbolic distribution of the cheques.

In all, the amount would be credited directly to the bank accounts of nearly 90,000 applicants across the state in the first phase. “The employment office will issue photo identity cards to the candidates attending the Sunday function. The candidates are being informed through email, SMS and snail mail to collect the identity cards from the employment office in Lalbagh from Thursday onwards,” said PK Pundir, the regional employment officer.
