Hooligans tease girls, attack school bus in Varanasi

According to police, after picking up students from their places, the bus was on way to the school in Chachaipar. As it reached near Kataichawar village, 13 persons, including Rasheed, Tinchu and Seraaj allegedly stopped the bus and got on it. They shamelessly started teasing the girls.

A group of 13 hooligans allegedly teased girl students by stopping their school bus near Kataiwar village in Mau district on Thursday when they (boys and girls) were on way to Sant Kabir Inter College, Chachaipar, police said. Over a dozen students were injured, six critically, in the incident as the hooligans attacked them with canes and hockey sticks after they opposed their moves.

A case has been registered against over a dozen in this connection.

According to police, after picking up students from their places, the bus was on way to the school in Chachaipar. As it reached near Kataichawar village, 13 persons, including Rasheed, Tinchu and Seraaj allegedly stopped the bus and got on it. They shamelessly started teasing the girls.

Police said the victims told them that when boys opposed their move, the hooligans attacked them with canes and hockey sticks. In the attack, over a dozen students sustained injuries. Of them, six, including Adityanarayan Singh, Ajit Singh, Atul, Prince Singh, Shreya Singh Aswhini Singh, Rudrapratap Singh are seriously injured.

Police said that after hearing screams of students, locals reached the site to rescue them but the assailants managed to flee. Angry locals staged to road blockade.

Inspector Ghosi Suresh Kumar Mishra reached the spot and assured the locals of taking strict against the assailants.

Students were rushed to the hospital for medical examination and treatment. Police said that a case has been registered against 13 persons in this connection following a complaint by school manager Omprakash Yadav. Further action will follow, he said.

Station officer Mishra said that the strict action would be ensured against the accused. Teams have been constituted to ensure arrest those involved in the incident.
