The decision was taken at a party meeting presided over by Mayawati, who is the national president of the BSP.

Ram Achal, a former minister, hailing from Ambedkar Nagar was defeated in assembly elections.

After major reverses in last assembly election Mayawati has launched exercises to reorganise the party at the state level and also gear it up for 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

She has already started identifying of candidates for LS polls.

Since the party has been making efforts to retrieve the lost ground, it had also stayed away from just concluded local bodies elections.

The BSP while in power in 2009 had won 20 Lok Sabha seats- one more from its earlier tally of 19 in 2004 poll.

The party now hopes to increase it further.

Mayawati, while addressing the leaders directed Rajbhar to hold divisional level meeting all over the state.

Rajbhar is also incharge of BSP unit of Uttrakhand.

She has also asked the leaders to start preparations for the Lok Sabha election.
