SP demands removal of cabinet secy, DGP in UP

With the Election Commission announcing the schedule of Assembly polls, Opposition Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh today demanded immediate removal of top government officials for "ensuring free and fair elections" in the state.

Alleging that the cabinet secretary, principal secretary home and DGP were working as "agents" of the ruling BSP, SP spokesman Rajendra Chowdhury demanded their removal.

"All of them should be immediately removed for ensuring free and fair polls," he said.
