During his 'Kranti Rath Yatra', UP SP president Akhilesh Yadav would protest caste and communal politics apart from highlighting "corrupt and repressive" policies of the state government, SP spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said in Lucknow on Sunday.
A large number of party leaders, workers and members of SP's youth wing would participate in the rath and cycle yatra, he said.
Chaudhary said in September 1987, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav took out a similar yatra to protest poor governance of the then government.
The move by the SP comes days after senior BJP leader LK Advani announced to take out an anti-corruption yatra across the country.
