Uttar Pradesh government has reinstated an official who was suspended for misusing official machinery, and transferred four IAS officers, official sources said on Saturday.

Anis Ansari, who was suspended three months ago after his wife Asma Hussain organised a fashion show at their official residence, has been made the Chairman of Administrative Tribunal and Vigilance Commission.

Besides, four IAS officers were also transferred late on Friday night, sources added.

Alok Rajan, Principal Secretary, Vocational Education, has been sent to Housing and Urban development in the same capacity while Home Secretary Renuka Kumar has been transferred to the Technical and Vocational Education department.

Amal Kumar Verma, who was in wait list, has been appointed as the Chairman of Handloom Development Corporation, Kanpur, while transfer orders of V Rajgopalan has been cancelled. He is the Principal Secretary for Minor Industries.
