The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday approved successful bidders for setting up four new small hydro power projects (SHP).
Going ahead with state government's intent to explore alternative resources of power generation, empowered committee headed by infrastructure & industrial development commissioner (IIDC), Anil K Gupta approved successful bidders for setting up four new small hydro power projects (SHP), official sources said in Lucknow.
The four small hydro power projects to be set up through public private partnership (PPP) mode include- 550 KW Kutubpur (Meerut), 300 KW Dhakauli (Meerut), 1800 KW Betwa-1 (Jhansi), 750 KW Akbarpur (Bulandshahar), totaling 3400 KW, he said.
These projects are expected to be commissioned in FY 2015-16.
While M/s AMR Power Private Ltd has been selected as successful bidder for Akbarpur SHP and Kutubpur SHP, M/s Oasis Contractors and Consultants Private Ltd have successfully bid for Betwa-1 and Dhakauli SHPs.
Anamika Singh , director, UP new and renewable energy development agency ,said that as per guidelines for setting up power projects through PPP, now decision would be referred to energy task force and state cabinet for final approval.
After ETF and Cabinet approval, tariffs quoted lowest shall be referred to UP Electricity Regulatory Commission for tariff adoption and permission for issuance of Letter of Intent (LoI) to respective project developers.
