Illegal colonies to be regularised soon: UP government

Yogi Adityanath government has said that it was considering to legalise colonies and would provide basic facilities like road, clean drinking water, sewage and other facilities.

Regularisation of illegal colonies is a major issue on which successive governments have not been able to take a stand. Now, in what may come as a major relief to people living in these illegal colonies located mostly on the outskirts of the cities, Yogi Adityanath government has said that it was considering to legalise them and would provide basic facilities like road, clean drinking water, sewage and other facilities.

An assurance to this effect was given by state urban development minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, in the UP Assembly on Wednesday when he said that the development authorities and the local bodies have been directed to develop the areas in these colonies. Khanna was replying to a question posed by SP member Sanjay Garg.
