5-year-old girl killed in road accident in Mumbai, driver escapes
The girl was playing near the Balkun service road in Thane, when the driver of the unidentified vehicle lost control and hit her from behind.
A five-year-old girl was killed in a road accident on Tuesday, after an unidentified vehicle hit her while she was playing near Balkun service road at Thane.

The deceased, Chetna Rathod is a resident of Thane.
According to police, Rathod was playing near the service road when the driver of the unidentified vehicle lost control and hit her from behind. She flung into air and hit the road suffering deep injuries.
“While the driver fled from the spot, Rathod’s father with help from passersby, rushed her to the hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries,” said a police officer from Kapurbawdi police station.
“Passersby could not note down the number of the vehicle that hit Rathod since the accident happened in fraction of seconds,” he added.
Police said that they are going through the CCTV cameras of all nearby areas to track the accused.
A case under relevant sections of the IPC and Motor Vehicle Act has been registered at the Kapurbawdi police station.
