8 students injured after their school bus meets with accident near Mumbai

The Titwala police have arrested the ST bus driver, and are probing the case.

Eight students of Madhavrao Rokde Madhyamik School in Goveli, Kalyan suffered minor and severe injuries in a road accident on Wednesday morning at Dahagaon near Kalyan.

The incident took place when the school bus carrying students collided with a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus at Dahagaon.

The Titwala police have arrested the ST bus driver, and are probing the case.

The injured students were taken to the nearby Goveli health care center after the accident.

An officer of MSRTC, Kalyan depot, said, “Our officials rushed to the spot after learning about the incident. Six students were injured in the incident.”

Senior police inspector, Venkat Andhale, said, “Our officials visited the spot and have took the ST bus driver into custody. We will book the driver after recording his statement under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC). Some of the students were severely injured owing to the sudden jerk. They are all out of danger and are under treatment at Goveli.”
