NCP corporator held for assaulting doctor

Dolas, 41, a first time corporator from Seawoods, apparently assaulted the doctor after one 52-year-old man was declared brought dead in the hospital.

The Nerul police have arrested NCP corporator of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), Vishal Dolas, for allegedly assaulting a doctor from Dr DY Patil Hospital on Friday.

Commenting on the case, Afjal Pathan, police inspector from Nerul police station said, “We arrested Dolas on Friday morning. He was produced before the court in the afternoon and has been remanded to judicial custody.” (HT file photo)

Dolas, 41, a first time corporator from Seawoods, apparently assaulted the doctor after one 52-year-old man was declared brought dead in the hospital. The man had visited the hospital aday earlier and complained of breathlessness but was not admitted even though the doctors had advised his family to do so.

Commenting on the case, Afjal Pathan, police inspector from Nerul police station said, “We arrested Dolas on Friday morning. He was produced before the court in the afternoon and has been remanded to judicial custody.”

Pathan further said that they have not received at CCTV footage of the incident.
