Dawood’s brother Iqbal Kaskar has a Gmail account, but doesn’t know the password
The police have approached the authorities at Google seeking access to the emails, said sources, as Kaskar claimed he doesn’t know the password
The Thane police on Monday got details of a Gmail account of gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s brother Iqbal Kaskar, who was arrested for allegedly trying to extort money from a builder last week.

The police have approached the authorities at Google seeking access to the emails, said sources, as Kaskar claimed he doesn’t know the password.
Kaskar, who was deported from the United Arab Emirates in 2003, is said to be operating his brother’s real estate business in the city, the police said.
According to the police, Kaskar’s son created the account in 2003 and is linked to his phone book. Sources said the gangster’s brother claimed it has a few crucial documents pertaining to four flats which he extorted from a builder in the past few years.
A police officer from the Thane crime branch said, “Kaskar is not tech-savvy. We suspect someone else from the gang might be using his account. He has not deleted any data over the past few years”.
“We have written a letter to a nodal officer at Gmail to give access to the account. We are expecting their reply in a few weeks,” said Abhishek Trimukhe, deputy commissioner of police.
The police have got the numbers in Dubai which Kaskar frequently called.
