Major fire at cloth mill near Mumbai’s Oberoi Mall, no one injured

The fire brigade control room received a call at 7.19am on Wednesday; blaze not yet under control

A major fire broke out in a cloth mill at Italian Industrial Estate near Oberoi Mall, Goregaon, on Wednesday morning. So far, no injury or casualty has been reported. The fire started at the ground floor of the three-storey building located in the industrial estate on Mulund Link Road.

At 7.52am, the firefighters termed its as level 3 fire.

The fire brigade control room received a call at 7.15 am after which firefighters reached the spot in 15 minutes, said an official from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s disaster management cell. Eight fire engines, 7 water tankers and 3 ambulance were rushed to the spot. At 7.52am, the firefighters termed its as level 3 fire. The fire was brought under control by 12.45pm.

“The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Further details are awaited,” the official said.
