Get all info about driving licence on motor vehicles dept’s redesigned website

Almost six years after launching its website, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) has redesigned it to make it more user-friendly.

The website is in Marathi and English and contains all information about RTOs, driving licence, vehicle registration, fees and taxes and permits.

One can also lodge complaints and give feedback through the website. Along with contact details of Regional transport offices (RTO) across the state, the website contains the latest government decisions.

But, sources from the RTO said that the website does not contain RTO helpline or phone numbers to lodge complaints against taxis and autorickshaws.

Officials said it took almost two years for the MVD to re-launch the website. In 2015, former transport commissioner Sonia Sethi had first announced redesigning of the website.

An MVD official said that Mahaonline has developed the website and they are going to improve it based on suggestions from people.

The earlier website was developed by a private company but residents did not benefit from it as most information was outdated.
