In Maharashtra: Two car mechanics under DGCA lens for repairing chopper

Two car mechanics from Kolhapur in Maharashtra have come under the aviation regulator’s lens for allegedly repairing a helicopter.
On October 12, Feroz Momin and his elder brother Imtiaz, who run a small garage in Kolhapur, got called in by a local businessman to fix an Augusta 109 chopper.
Local media splashed the incident as a wonder story as well as scare at the same time. On Friday, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) sent a team to probe the matter. “Our team is interrogating them,” said Lalit Gupta, joint director general with the DGCA.
The chopper in question is believed to be owned by Sanjay Patil of the DY Patil Group in Maharashtra.
