Minor goes missing from Mumbai’s Malad area, police file kidnapping case
Mumbai city news: The 17-year-old girl went missing after she stepped out her house for some work on Friday morning
The Kurar police registered a case against an unknown person on Sunday for allegedly kidnapping a 17-year-old girl from Malad (east). Investigations revealed the girl has been missing since Friday and the family approached the police on Saturday night. The case was registered based on the complaint lodge by the minor’s uncle.

An officer said, the girl lives in Appapada with her uncle, who has an imitation jewellery business in Malad. In his statement, girl’s uncle said she left home around 11am on June 9 for some work and never returned. After their failed attempts to search the girl, the family approached the Kurar police.
Inquiry revealed that a local youth was in touch with the minor and was seen with her in the past. The youth is also missing since Friday.
“We are questioning his friends and trying to trace his mobile number. As of now, the minor hasn’t called the family,” added the officer.
Senior inspector L Vhanmane from Kurar police station said, “Since the girl is a minor, a case of kidnapping has been registered. The suspect has been identified and we are looking out for him.”
