Mumbai man kills lover’s ‘abusive’ husband, wears her clothes, flees with her gold chain
Mumbai city news: The man slit his victim’s throat on the terrace of the government building in Bandra
The Kherwadi police recently arrested a woman for ordering her lover to kill her husband in Bandra (East). Police said the woman, Sonali Chari, 35, planned to kill her husband Sachin, 40,as he was an alcoholic and would beat her often over trivial issues.

Sonali lives at the Ahinsanagar slum in Kherwadi. Her lover slit Sachin’s throat on the terrace of the government building in the area.
Police learnt that Sonali was in touch with someone who lived in the same vicinity and was seen with him on the day of the murder. Suspecting that this man was Sonali’s lover, police went to his house and learnt that he had not been home for the past two days, said a police officer.
“We interrogated Sonali. She confessed that she had asked her lover to kill Sachin as he would beat her,” said inspector Rohit Khot, Kherwadi police station.
“The man killed Sachin, then went to her house that same night to change his bloodstained clothes. He wore Sonali’s clothes and asked her for money. She did not have cash and so gave him her gold chain. He then fled,” he added.
Police booked Sonali and her lover under the charges of murder and other sections of the Indian Penal Code. “Sonali was arrested and is now in police custody. We are searching for her accomplice,” said the official.
