Chauhan had shifted to Dachkulpada two months ago and had befriended the survivor’s parents, who work as labourers at construction sites. After the girl’s parents left for work, Chauhan allegedly lured her into his room and raped her.

The incident came to light and soon the news spread across Dachkulpada after the minor told her mother about it. Angry locals first thrashed Chauhan and then dragged him to the police station. He was booked under relevant sections of the Indian penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act, 2012.
