Mumbai woman chopped into pieces 4 days after wedding: Husband borrowed car from friend to dispose of body

The April 4 murder came to light after a woman’s torso was found in a nullah on May 6

Siddhesh Gurav, who allegedly hacked his wife, Priyanka, into pieces four days after wedding with help from his parents, had borrowed his friend’s car to dispose of the body, said Mumbai police.

The friend, Vishal Soni, 34, who was arrested on Saturday, told the police about the vehicle. The car was found in Ambivli on the outskirts of Mumbai on Monday.

The April 4 murder came to light after a woman’s torso was found in a nullah on May 6. Siddhesh, 25, his parents Manohar, 50, Madhuri, 48, and Siddhesh’s friend Durgesh Patwa, 31, who helped them cut the body into pieces were arrested on May 1.

The accused dumped the body parts across Mumbai.

Pramod Roman, inspector, Rabale MIDC police station, said, “During interrogation, Soni told us about the car. We are interrogating all accused to get more details.”

C Katkar, senior police inspector, Rabale MIDC police station, said, “We have recovered all her body parts. We will not hand over those to her family as DNA tests are yet to be conducted this week.”
