Police trace Malad murder accused to Tamil Nadu
The accused, Maria Raj Nadar, is also wanted in a 2007 attempt to murder case
The Malad police have arrested a fifth accused from Tamil Nadu in connection with the murder of Jayram Kumar Nadar, who was killed in June. The accused, Maria Raj Nadar, is also wanted in a 2007 attempt to murder case.

Jayram used to run a nickel plating workshop. He had three cases registered against him, including a murder case. Maria’s name cropped up during investigations, when the police were questioning the four other accused in the case.
A police team started looking for him in Valnai, but were unsuccessful. Informants helped the investigating team trace him to Tamil Nadu.
The probe revealed that Jayram, Maria and the other accused would often fight. The group fought during the festive season and Jayram allegedly assaulted them. The group decided to seek revenge and planned to murder him, said officials.
Jayram was standing near a motorbike at his Valnai residence when the assailants targeted him. The group attacked him with knives, choppers and small blades. Jayram succumbed to heavy bleeding.
The police said three more people are currently wanted in connection with the case. Maria has been remanded in police custody.
