Tuition teacher murders competitor in Mumbai
The crime took place in the Malwani area of Malad, located in the suburbs.
A tuition teacher on Thursday killed his competitor in Malwani, by stabbing him in his abdomen.

According to preliminary investigation, the accused, Vijay Harijan , 29, and the victim, Arup Vishwas, 50, used to run separate tuition classes in the same area at Ambujwadi in Malad (West). They always fought over the children taking admission in those classes.
Vijay told the police that Arup always convinced the children in the area including students of Vijay’s classes, to join his classes.
“In the last few months, several students left Vijay’s classes and joined Arup’s after he convinced them,” said an official from the Malwani police station. Vijay had several arguments with Arup and had even warned him over his behaviour.
However, Arup continued to convince the children to join his classes.
“On Thursday, around 8.30pm, the duo got into a heated argument. In a fit of rage, Vijay got a knife from his residence and stabbed Arup four to five times in his abdomen,” said the official.
“Vijay fled the spot but the police managed to nab him within a few hours,” senior inspector Deepak Phatangare said.
Vijay was produced in the court on Friday and was remanded to police custody till February 6.
