Two arrested for assaulting Mumbai contractor, firing in the air
He also alleged that Mhaskar and Shinde assaulted him at the behest of a history sheeter
Two men were arrested for allegedly assaulting a 35-year-old contractor in Titwala near Kalyan on Monday. In his complaint, the contractor, Santosh Gondhali, said Ajay Mhaskar and Vijay Shinde, both in their 30s, also fired in the air.

He also alleged that Mhaskar and Shinde assaulted him at the behest of a history sheeter, Sunil Dhumal who was recently released from jail. Dhumal was charged under stringent MCOCA charges. The police suspect that the incident was a fallout of past rivalry between Dhumal and Gondhali.
According to the police, Gondhali’s four-wheeler and a car driven by the duo collided near Titwala station. This led to an altercation.
“The accused and the victim abused each other. Gondhali alleged that he was beaten up and later five rounds were fired,” said an officer from Titwala police station, adding that the contractor is facing several criminal cases.
The police however said that they have found neither any bullets from the spot and nor a firearm from the duo.
