A two day old baby girl was found abandoned in Ulhasnagar on Saturday. The police are going through the CCTV camera footage of the nearby areas to trace who abandoned the girl.

On Saturday afternoon, a passerby from Aji Ama complex at Ulhasnagar spotted the crying infant and alerted the shopkeepers. However, the shopkeepers were clueless about who abandoned the child near their shop.
“The baby girl was lying abandoned near some garbage in Ulhasnagar. Nobody spotted the person who kept the child there,” a police constable from Hill line police station said.
“ The baby weighs around 2kg and is in perfect health. We have admitted her in Central hospital and she is doing well,” he added.
The police are investigating the case and are going through hospital records and checking whether someone has registered a missing person’s complaint. The family of the child has not been traced yet.
The Hill line police have registed a case on theunknown mother under section 317 of the Indian penal code.
