Two detained for filming video falsely accusing Thane Municipal Commissioner of molestation

Two people were detained by the Thane anti extortion cell (AEC) on Wednesday for filming and circulating a video which spread false allegations of sexual molestation against the Thane Municipal commissioner, Sanjeev Jaiswal in December.

The truth came to light after Jaiswal’s 15-year-old domestic helper, who featured in the video, confessed that she was paid to make the allegations against Jaiswal.

A non-cognizable offence has been filed with the Chithalsar police against Sandip Gundhukhupe,32, an MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) party worker, and Ashwin Shetty,35, hotelier. The two will be produced in court on Thursday.
