PUNE: A BJP worker has lodged a complaint with Pune cyber police against unidentified persons for posting and circulating her photo with guardian minister Girish Bapat with objectionable words.

The BJP worker lodged a complaint after her photo with food and civil supplies minister Girish Bapat went viral on the social media on Thursday. The photo shows Bapat holding her hand. Some of the circulated photos were also encircled with red

The incident allegedly occurred when chief minister Devendra Fadnavis was at the residence of Ramchandra Dabhade at Wagholi on Wednesday noon. The photo shows Fadnavis accepting a memorandum, while Bapat and the BJP worker are standing beside him.

The BJP worker said in her complaint that she was to be introduced to Fadnavis when Bapat asked her to stop for a few moments and caught her hand from proceeding.

“Bapat is like a fatherly figure to me. Party workers took photographs of the event, which were later posted on Facebook and other social media,” the BJP worker said in her complaint.

She said that the photographs were circulated on the social media with objectionable words since Thursday morning.

According to the complaint, the BJP worker came to know about the incident when some of her well-wishers drew her attention towards the trending photo on WhatsApp. She also mentioned that objectionable words were being used with the photographs on WhatsApp.

The police have registered an offence against unidentified persons. The investigation is in progress.
