Boy gets absconding father held for theft
MUMBAI: A 15-year-old boy on Tuesday unknowingly helped the cops recover 210 stolen mobile phones worth ₹44 lakh and arrest his father, who had allegedly burgled a shop in Narpoli with two accomplices a month back.
The Kalyan Government Railway Police (GRP) spotted the teenager holding an expensive phone at the station. “When we asked the boy, he said his father had brought several such phones home,” said Anant Rane, senior inspector, Kalyan GRP.
The boy then led them to his house, where they found the phones and arrested his father . Police had already arrested his accomplices and recovered phones worth ₹15 lakh.
