The corporators said it was becoming difficult to face citizens.

Opposition corporators of the standing committee also staged a walkout over the issue from the standing committee meeting held on Wednesday.

Corporators rubbished the BMC’s claims of only 35 more potholes to be filled.

Rais Shaikh, group leader of Samajwadi Party, said, “In my ward alone, there are over 500 potholes and the civic administration boasts that only 35 potholes are pending.”

Pravin Chheda, opposition leader and Congress corporator, said, “I had written to the vigilance department in August stating that the contractors are not working on roads that fall under defect liability period and the officers had promised that problem will be fixed in 48 hours. After almost a month, nothing has been done by the officials.”
