NAGPUR : The annual Vijayadashami address by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday assumes special significance for the cadre, in the wake of the surgical strikes on terror launchpads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The rally will be the first after the uniform for RSS cadre changed from traditional khaki shorts to brown trousers.

Sarkaryavahak Bhayyaji Joshi, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union minister Nitin Gadkari and a host of other dignitaries will attend the event. The RSS chief’s speech will be keenly watched for policy direction to the Sangh Parivar.

The decision to change the uniform was taken at the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha of RSS at Nagaur, Rajasthan, in March, in a bid to attract more youngsters.

“We have directed our shakhas across the country to implement the new dress code – white shirt, black cap and shoes -- from Vijaydashami,” said RSS pracharak pramukh Manmohan Vaidya.
