MUMBAI: A teenager was crushed by a school bus in Chembur around 4pm on Wednesday.

The boy, Rohidas Shinde, 17, a resident of Kokan Nagar in Chembur, lost control of his bike, falling under the wheels of the Ryan International High School bus.

“Shinde was using his neighbors’ bike and trying to overtake a BEST bus when he fell. The road was congested,” said S. G. Dal, senior police inspector, Chembur police station.

Shinde was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police arrested the bus driver, Dinesh Hadkar under sections of the Indian penal code.
