25-yr-old held for robbing college student’s cell phone

The Malad police recently arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly robbing a college student’s cell phone.

The Malad police recently arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly robbing a college student’s cell phone.

The police said that the complainant, Mihir Shah, 17, met the accused, Mohammad Ansari, in Malad (west) on January 10. Ansari struck-up a conversation with Shah, who mentioned that he was a student at a Malad-based college.

Ansari then claimed that he worked as a cook in the college canteen and during the conversation, he took Shah’s cell phone and fled.

The police said that Ansari was arrested on January 10 using a cell-phone tracker to trace his location and was sent to judicial custody till January 24.
