A 35 year-old-man committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence at Vakola on Saturday afternoon.
Brijesh Singh, working as a distributor for a leading biscuit manufacturing company, hung himself at his residence leaving behind a suicide note.
Vakola police said Singh mentioned in his suicide note, that he was committing suicide because he was depressed after his wife passed away after suffering from blood cancer six months ago.
However, family members of the deceased claimed he was being harassed on the professional front.
Naresh Singh, the brother of the deceased, said, “ My brother left behind a suicide note blaming two area sales managers from the company he was working.”
“After being harassed at work for the past six months he could not take it anymore and decided to end his life.He is survived by two daughters aged eight and twelve.” Senior police inspector Anil Kharade from the Vakola police station denied that the deceased had named anyone from his workplace for harassing him.
“Singh hung himself using a cloth between 1 and 2 in the afternoon when he was alone at home. One of his brothers is also mentally challenged. He stated in his suicide note that he was committing suicide out of this depression,” Kharade said.
