The police said Chaudhary obtained a SIM card under his name. He, however, provided the address of Mehul Kansaria, 34, a resident of Oshiwara.

Kansaria received mobile bills for the month of January and February for the current year at his residence in Castle Tower building at Oshiwara on Monday, the police said.

Kansaria approached the police alleging that Chaudhary had wrongfully given his address.

After checking the details, the police registered a case of cheating and forgery against Chaudhary following which he was arrested on Monday night. Chaudhary came to the complainant’s building frequently because his friend Shraddha Sharma resides there, the police said.

“Investigations are on to find out how Chaudhary managed to get Kansaria’s documents forged,” said police inspector UD Kadlak from Oshiwara police station.

Chaudhary had earlier been arrested in January for allegedly assaulting his former wife Shweta Tiwari.
