After taxis, autos, best mulling hike in bus fares

After taxis and autorickshaw unions, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) is considering a hike in bus fares following the increase in CNG rates.

After taxis and autorickshaw unions, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) is considering a hike in bus fares following the increase in CNG rates.

“We would be forced to increase fares as the hike in CNG rates would result in a loss of about Rs 40 crore. We would now calculate the expected hike in fares,” said BEST General Manager Om Prakash Gupta.

The transport department is meeting unions on June 22 to decide on fares.
