This incident took place around 1.42pm on platform 1 at Bhayander station when a Virar-bound local from Churchgate reached the platform. As he got the signal to go ahead, motorman PK Sharma spotted another train on the same track coming out of the Bhayander yard, said WR sources.

Western railway CPRO Sharat Chandrayan initially denied the incident, but later called it a ‘routine operation’. Just two weeks ago, a similar incident at Andheri led to a head-on collision between two local trains, in which more than 10 passengers were injured.
