The agitation was a result of a spat between a ticket checker and commuters due to which peak-hour services on WR were brought to halt for a while.

Commuters on the train said that a ticket checker and an RPF officer barged into the compartment for the handicapped on a local train.

Commuters inconvenienced because of this, pulled the emergency chain and halted the train at Lower Parel station.

“Angry commuters then halted trains on the other track as well,” said a commuter who was present during the agitation.

WR officials said, “Trains were halted for 10 to 15 minutes.”

Shivaji Shinde, senior inspector of Mumbai Central station said, “We have brought in the ticket checker and the commuters for an inquiry.”
