S Kumbhar, sub-inspector of Agripada police station said, “We were informed about the incident by the school authorities, following which we have arrested them. The dummy student was answering the geometry paper in place of an authentic hall ticket holder. We have booked the two and further action is underway.” The student was from a municipal school.

Molly Francis, principal of the school, said that the block supervisor spotted something suspicious about the signature of the student. “He alerted me saying the signature did not match the one on the hall ticket. When I took a closer look, I realised even the picture on the hall ticket was different. I told the constable, who questioned the boy. He confessed immediately. The student, whose hall ticket it was, was waiting outside the school and the police caught him too,” Francis said.
