The accused, Suresh Malge, a resident of Charai, Thane, was also blackmailing the 33-year-old victim (name withheld) with videos that he had recorded of the incident, the police said. The woman is married and has two children.

“Malge has constructed several structures, most of them in Delhi, Bangalore,” said police inspector GB Thorat. “His office is in Survewadi in Wagle Estate. The victim had been working for him since past two years. In the complaint she filed on Tuesday, the victim alleged that Malge raped her in June this year. She said she didn’t complain earlier out of fear.

In her complaint, the victim said that Magle had video clips of her in compromising position and was threatening to make them public. “He would also send her threatening messages. However, we haven’t found the video yet,” said Thorat. Malge has been remanded to police custody till December 6.
