Cartoonist Aseem Trivedi on Thursday submitted a two-page handwritten statement to the BKC police before leaving for Delhi.

The police said that Trivedi, in his statement, asserted he had done nothing that amounted to treason. "We had summoned Trivedi to record his statement.

He said he was leaving for Delhi and would write the statement and hand it over to an officer," said GT Paudwal, divisional ACP. Trivedi, in his statement, said his work aimed to create awareness about corruption.
