Government authorities and the citizens’ group worked together on this project.

The new signal is installed at the junction of 17th road and CD Marg, also known as Khar-Danda road.

“Since there was no traffic signal on that junction, motorists created havoc in the area. There was an urgent need for the authorities to put it up as there was a sharp rise in the number of accident cases,” said Anandini Thakoor, chairperson, H-west, citizens’ federation.

Students of ML Jasuben High School, Khar, also presented a memorandum to Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) member Ashish Shelar demanding a speed breakers and another traffic signal outside their school on RK Mission Marg.
