Sejal Rakesh Jain, a first-year management student residing in Ghatkopar, had gone to a friend’s house in Bhoomi Towers on Nehru road in Santacruz to rehearse for a play. The seven youngsters then went to the terrace of the society’s A-wing building to play hide-and-seek when, at around 3.15pm, they heard Jain’s screams.

The police said that Jain had jumped onto the parapet, and had stepped on a plywood extension, which gave way. She was rushed to VN Desai hospital nearby, where she was declared dead on arrival.
