A division bench of chief justice Mohit Shah and justice DG Karnik on Tuesday directed additional government pleader Abhinandan Abhigyani to file a reply within two weeks on a petition filed by a former sportsman who was allotted a tenement in May 1989.
The court was hearing a petition filed by Kalyan resident Chandrabhan Sangle, 59, when he did not get the promised tenement under the CM’s quota even after two decades. Sangle has represented the state and university in hammer throw at national and district-level games.
In his petition, Sangle has alleged that tenements under the scheme have been allotted “only to those who have close relations with politicians”.
