Trains were around 10-15 minutes late. “I had to reach CST for some personal work, so I arrived at Kurla station around 1.05pm, but there was no fast train till 1.23pm. Even when the train arrived, it was very crowded, I could not catch it in time,” said SS Nalawde, a finance sector professional.

This Sunday, there was a mega block between Mulund and Kalyan station on down fast line of the Central Railway line. There was a mega block between Kurla and Vashi stations on the Harbour line as well. On Western Railway, there was a mega block between Santacruz and Mahim on the fast line. The block forced many passengers to catch auto, taxi and BEST buses. “Buses from Navi Mumbai to the city were full. We had to let a few buses go,” said Sucheta Parab, a housewife from Kharghar.
