The Bombay high court on Tuesday asked the BMC to consider framing noise regulation rules for construction activities in the city.

While hearing petitions about noise pollution, the division bench of chief justice Mohit Shah and justice Nitin Jamdar suggested that some regulations be put in place.

The BMC’s counsel SU Kamdar informed the court that there are no rules for regulating noise from construction activities, except that such activities are not permitted during the night. After hearing all arguments, the court said it would pass an appropriate order later.
