Cop accused of selling labrador left in his care

Senior inspector of Vakola police station RG Pardesi said a case of criminal breach of trust had been registered against Kadam. Police said Vakola resident Durga Uttekar approached them alleging Kadam was not returning the labrador she had kept at his kennel.

Durga alleged she had gone to Goa on December 2 and had left her pet at the kennel after paying the required fees. “When she returned on December 8, Kadam and his partner Mangesh Sakpal gave her different versions. One said the dog had run away, the other said the dog had died,” said inspector S Bhosale of Vakola police station. Kadam even volunteered to give her another dog in exchange of her Labrador, said an officer requesting anonymity.

Uttekar approached the Vakola police. After investigating the matter the police registered a criminal case against the partners. Sakpal was arrested, but Kadam went underground.
