Police is not ruling out the possibility that someone may have bumped Pradeep Bhagoji Mahadik’s, 45, bike and fled. Senior police inspector Ashok Jadhav said, “The control room had received a call that an accident had taken place near IIT.”

Mahadik was lying in a pool of blood. It appears his Pulsar had hit the divider, which led to the accident. There are no eyewitnesses to the accident, he added.

An officer requesting anonymity said, “Mahadik is recuperating at the Fortis Hospital and is out of danger. However, he is still unconscious. Once he regains consciousness, we will record his statements.”
