The police said the pool was closed on Wednesday due to heavy rains and Indumati had been warned not to go to the pool by the hotel staff and the two lifeguards who were in the lobby. The hotel staff had also reportedly put a board that read that the pool was closed.
“We will be probing into all possible angles to find out how Indumati landed into the pool. We have registered a case of accidental death,” said DCP (Zone VIII) S.N. Choudhary.
Indumati was in the city with a 10-member team, for an internal training, two days before the incident took place. The police do not suspect any foul play. However, they will take down statements of her team members and the hotel staff.
