Khan’s lawyer told the court that the accused could not attend the hearing as he was suffering from slip-disc and had been advised bed-rest.

Khan allegedly sold bottles of medicine, called Body Revival, for Rs 15, 000 each.

The case has been adjourned till January 14.

Mahesh Vaswani, representing Tabassum — the actress who has filed a case against Khan — filed an intervention application saying that the medical certificate produced by Khan was a photocopy.

In his application, Khan said that he was innocent and claimed that he has been implicated in the case. The Versova police had filed a case against Khan after several people complained that Khan had cheated them.
